Imagine Sports offers comprehensive fantasy sports games that replicate the experience of running a professional team. The company's flagship product, called "Diamond Mind," is a computer simulation game widely recognized as the most realistic baseball simulation software. Originally marketed in 1987 under the name "Pursue The Pennant," Diamond Mind was developed by renowned baseball statistician Tom Tippett, who has been refining and improving the simulation ever since. PC Magazine named Diamond Mind "Editor's Choice" in 2005, writing:
"As far as baseball simulations go, Diamond Mind Baseball is the MVP."
In 2006, Imagine Sports acquired Diamond Mind and launched a multiplayer online version of the game. "Rob Neyer Baseball" has grown quickly, setting the standard for online baseball simulation. In the December 24, 2007 issue, ESPN: The Magazine wrote:
"If hardball history is your thing, there's no more addictive game than Imagine Sports' Rob Neyer Baseball (imaginesports.com). Draft real players from any time, ever, then send them to the plate against other all-timers. Who wouldn't want to see Josh Gibson go yard against Roger Clemens and J.R. Richard whiff Ted Williams?"
The Diamond Mind game has proven to be a popular choice among baseball fans. 82% of customers stated they were "extremely satisfied" with Diamond Mind, ranking the game a 1, 2 or 3 on a 10 point scale. More, 92% of customers said they were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with Imagine Sports' customer service. To date, more than 50,000,000 baseball games have been simulated using the Diamond Mind software.
Imagine Sports is headquartered in San Mateo, California, and also has offices in San Diego. The company was founded in 2005 by Dayne Myers, who previously was co-founder and CEO of the award-winning Elemental Security. Imagine Sports' investors include Amicus Capital (www.amicuscapital.com) and senior executives of several prominent Silicon Valley technology companies.
In 2007, Imagine Sports signed a promotion and licensing partnership with MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) under which MLBAM promotes the Diamond Mind game on its MLB.com website and also granted the rights for use of Major League Baseball league and team logos, data, player names, and images in the Rob Neyer Baseball game.
Imagine Sports will soon launch a multiplayer basketball simulation game modeled after the Rob Neyer Baseball game and has several other games in development.
